Treat Yourself to a New Hairstyle in 2022
If you’re looking forward to the New Year and really want to break out of the old and into the new and exciting, why not start with a new hairstyle? At PR at Partners, we’re looking forward to a year of both new and bold haircuts while still staying true to your natural roots. So perhaps instead of trying for big, unreachable resolutions, go for something more within your reach with a fabulous new hairstyle in 2022!
Shoulder-Length Shag. This retro haircut is still going strong with its modern twists. The secret to this cut is that it’s defined by its layers and it looks amazing with any lengths and textures. We expect to see more of a shoulder-length, often with bangs, to rock the style this year. If you’re looking to take off a couple of inches from your long hair, give this shag ending at your shoulder a try. The shorter the shag, the tidier the look. However, it’s also true that the shorter the shag, the more maintenance you’ll have if you have thicker, coarse hair.
Sliced Bob. Yes, another throwback to the 90s that’ll be trending going into the new year. This mid-length version of the classic bob can be worn naturally or with a smooth, sleek look. The heavy weight-line keeps it looking picture-perfect all day long and you can personalize the style with a heavy side part a parted in the middle – or mix it up depending on your mood for that day!
Hefty Layers. If you’re old enough to remember “The Rachel” from Friends, you know what we’re talking about. This is another 90s trend that is making its rounds again in 2022. This is a versatile cut with just about any length possible and any texture. The key is the face-framing layers with a good round brush and hairdryer.
The Bixie. Want a chic cut that adds volume and dimension to shorter hair? The ‘bixie’ is one part pixie, one part bob to create the ultimate 90s throwback with the pixie length and a little extra on top. This is the perfect cut to customize so that it works for your hair texture and style.
Part in the Center. You may think this is an outdated look but give it a try! We’re seeing a lot of center parts going into the New Year and it’s a great way to give your current hairstyle a whole new look without committing to a new cut.
Love your bangs. It’s not time to get rid of those bangs just yet. And if you still haven’t gotten with the trend, bangs are here to stay this year. Whether it be soft and wispy, a heavy fringe, or straight curtain bangs, they are a great way to update your look and can be flattering on almost any face shape. If you take the plunge and add bangs this year, use a dry texture spray to give them some lift and texture that’ll last all day.
