PR at Partners Virginia State Accredited Apprenticeship Program

3000 Hours or 18 - 24 months

At PR at Partners our Apprenticeship Program offers the prospective hairdresser a realistic path and timeline to becoming a hairdresser “on the shop floor”.

Where We Differ From Beauty Schools

When you complete our program, not only will you have your Cosmetology License, but you will be given a place on our shop floor.

Apprentices work as Technicians, assisting hairdressers throughout all of our VA locations. This is a paid position, hourly wage + additional compensation

Apprenticeship Program Overview
  • 18 – 24 months
  • Work as a Technician at one of our Virginia locations
  • Receive an hourly wage + tips.
  • In salon “on-the-job” training.
  • FREE education at the PR at Partners Academy.

There is 6 week in-salon probationary period before commencing any education and registration into the Apprenticeship Program. Hours accrued during the probationary period will be logged when the Technician is approved for registration.

Fast Track Program (For Cosmetology School Student)

For Beauty School Graduates join our fast-track program (our apprenticeship program in less time). Designed to allow a beauty school student the time to gain more in-salon experience and transition from student to a hairdresser “on the floor.”

Fast Track 4 -8 months. You will work as a Technician (salon assistant) at one of our VA/DC/MD locations and receive an hourly wage + tips. In salon “on-the-job” training. FREE education at the PR at Partners Academy. Employee must have completed 1,500 hrs in Beauty School.

PR at Partners Hairdressing Programs and all of the PR at Partners Hairdressing programs are task oriented. Students and Hairdressers are required to complete the set amount of classes in each program. Each program has an “Evaluation” or “Test Out” that will be completed to confirm a student’s advancement.

Cutting Program

Foundations – Introduction to PR at Partners Haircutting. Includes 5 Classic cuts. Hands on with mannequins. Held at our Academy in Manassas, VA.

Fast Track. 8 classes (minimum) Apprenticeship program. 16 classes (minimum) Details – Intermediate. How to design a technique and time effective haircut. Includes 5 Progressive cuts. Hands on with mannequins. Held at our Academy in Manassas, VA.

Fast Track 8 classes (minimum) Apprenticeship program. 16 classes (minimum) Studio – On the floor Test Out for Apprenticeship and Fast Track students. Hands on cutting and color in-salon with live guests. 12 techniques completed to PR at Partners standards. Held in salon at our locations throughout VA.

Fast Track 12 classes (minimum) Apprenticeship program 12 classes when student obtains VA state Cosmetology license and is on the floor. RockStar – Communications, marketing, personal business strategy. Held at our Academy in Manassas, VA.

Fast Track 16 classes (minimum) Apprenticeship Program 32 classes (minimum)

Color Program

Color F1. Science of hair. Color Theory. Held at our Education Studio in Merryfield VA.

Fast Track. 8 classes (minimum) Apprenticeship program. 16 classes (minimum) Color F2. Application and Technique. Held at our Education Studio in Merryfield VA.

Fast Track. 8 classes (minimum) Apprenticeship program. 16 classes (minimum) Color F3. Formulation & Consultation. Held at our Academy in Manassas, Va.

Advanced Classes

SuperStar Color – Progressive utilization Color Theory, Technique and Consultation. (Hairdressers only. minimum 2 years on the floor coloring experience at PR at Partners.) Held at our Academy in Manassas, VA and in salon.

SuperStar Collection Cutting – 7 Progressive Cuts. Handson 6 mannequin, 1 live guest. (Hairdressers only. minimum 2 years on the floor cutting experience at PR at Partners.) Held at our Academy in Manassas, VA and insalon.

Mens Hairdressing – Scissor and clipper techniques. 4 Progressive Cuts. Hands-on mannequin. Held at our Academy in Manassas, Va.
