Perms definitely are making a hit again this year and are a trend that everyone and anyone should try out. They are a fun, stylish look for everyone adding a bit of bounce and curl into your life that you did not even know that you needed.

Why Get A Perm?

Well, why not get a perm? Perms allow you to have an experience you have never had before, experiment with your look, and get a fresh, brand-new hairstyle. They can even help people who already have curls to get more uniform ringlets to make it easier to manage. Adding some spice to your look is a fantastic way to keep yourself fresh and interesting. If you have always admired curls, perms are the best way to get long-lasting, gorgeous curls for yourself, as well as volumize flat hair and add texture.

The Best Permed Men’s Styles

There are a  lot of great hairstyles you can go for when you are styling it with a perm! A fringe cut with curls can be a great way to take on the look and add your own flare to the style. You can also use a faded buzz to create a cool effect along your sides to go along with your new do. If you want, you can even go all out on longer hair- long hair with a perm is a striking, handsome change that will definitely add flare to your style. Some people are even doing permed mohawks and pompadours. Pompadours, being longer on top, are a great style to try out with curls as it adds more personality to your hair overall.

Caring For A Perm

Once you have curly hair, you need to learn how to care for it. Curly hair needs extra tender love and care, so make sure you are prepared to take that on before you jump into the world of perms! Curls need to be combed out gently, so you want to invest in a wide-tooth comb or brush made for curls. You should also be sure to invest in a leave-in conditioner or detangler to ensure that while you are detangling you have the slip you need in the hair to ensure that you do not accidentally cause tearing.

Post-Perm Care

Just in case you need a little advice for post-perm care, there are a few need-to-know details that you absolutely must take heed of to ensure you get the best out of your curls. You do not want to wash your hair for about two days after you first receive a perm, as you risk washing out the chemicals that create the curl and your perm falling out. You will also want to wait for a while before any other hair appointments, as styling and other treatments can cause the curls to set differently than how they were initially styled. Your hair will need about 48 hours to stay in a permanent perm, so make sure to give it time before getting it wet, styling, or going to any other hair appointments.
