Quick Updos for Easy Summer Styles
For those with long, thick hair, wearing your hair down in 90-degree weather it's like wrapping a wool scarf around your neck in a sauna. But it's easy to get stuck in a rut when it comes to wearing your hair up. We tend to settle on one style, often a ponytail or a simple bun, and rarely change things up. Here are a few quick and easy updos that look complicated but will keep you cooler and looking great in a flash.
Fishtail Braided Bun
For a dressed-up version of the classic bun, start by pulling your hair up into a high ponytail. Begin a fishtail braid and continue along the whole length of your hair. Secure it with an elastic and wrap the braid around the base of the ponytail securing with bobby pins as you go to form a bun.
Rope Braid Ponytail
If you are looking for something new but you're not ready to let go of your ponytail yet, this is the hairstyle for you. Secure hair into a ponytail and divided into two sections. Twist each section in opposite directions all the way to the tips. Wrap the two twisted sections around each other to the tips of your hair and secure with an elastic.
French Braid Top Knot
Flip your hair over and begin a French braid at the neckline. Braid upwards to the crown of the head, ending the braid in a twisted top not secured with hair pins. Pull out a few tendrils around your face and curl for a softer, romantic look.
